Featuring Gaurav Mazumdar, as Principal Conductor of Britain's National Youth Orchestra, SAMYO. A position Gaurav is holding for the past 5yrs, where he is mentoring young musicians, composing music for them & conducting them.

Colours From The Rainbow

Gaurav's composition performed by a western orchestra comprising of school children from England . The seven colours, which are the seven musical movements, 
depict the myriad emotions and journey of
human life.



Written and composed by Alan Hovhaness in 1969, the 45-minute, single-movement Shambala, a violin and sitar concerto,is one of the most eagerly-awaited Hovhaness discoveries of recent times. Commissioned by Yehudi Menuhin, and almost 40 years after it was written, this concerto received it's world-premiere broadcast in January 2008. And very appropriately, one of India 's leading and highly-respected musicians, Gaurav Mazumdar, has undertaken the duties on sitar.

Walking Together


Released by Navras Records, in this album, Gaurav Mazumdar and Jayanthi Kumaresh bring the 2 great classical traditions of Indian music together, he from the perspective of Hindustani music and she from that of Carnatic music. The ragas in this album are Kalavati and Yaman (Kalyani), followed by a popular Bhajan 'Vaishnava Janato'.

Strings in Harmony

This album was recorded LIVE in 2006 at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai , India . The concert was part of Bharat Sangeet Utsav, a path-breaking initiative, conceptualized by Carnatica as a confluence of the best talent on offer in the Hindustani and Carnatic genres.
